Subject: Systematics Association Annual Meeting

I just learned that the featured speaker at the annual meeting of the
Systematics Association (UK Society of Systematic Biologists),
December 5 in London, will be Norm Platnick. His address is
entitled: "From Cladograms to Classifications: The Road to
DePhylocode."

A short summary states:
>"Recent proposals of a so-called 'phylogenetic nomenclature' will be
>examined, from the perspectives of information content and
>predictive value, as filtered by the experiences of some 25 years of
>work on the phylogenetic systematics of spiders." The meeting is
>open to the public.

The meeting is open to the public.
