For the purposes of citation stability, it is very desirable that eac=
h
version ofd the PhyloCode should have its own persistent URL that doe=
s
not change when a newer version becomes available. Then I can say
that a name is created in accordance with version 2b which is
available (and always will be) at
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/PhyloCode2b.pdf
I would like to see a recommendation that citations of the PhyloCode
give the URL for the specific version that is used.

I am pleased to see that the site does indeed have an archive of olde=
r
versions of the code:
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/PhyloCode.pdf [version 1, I guess?]
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/PhyloCode2.pdf
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/PhyloCode2a.pdf
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/PhyloCode2b.pdf
but it would be good to see the naming convention made explicit, and
to have a dedicated "older versions" page on the web-site.

Finally, the URL
=09http://www.phylocode.org/
currently redirects to
=09http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/
which is helpful; but it would be better if the site actually lived a=
t
www.phylocode.org, so that more appropriate URLs such as=20
=09http://www.phylocode.org/PhyloCode2b.pdf
worked as expected. In the longer term, it doesn't seem appropriate
that the PhyloCode should be tied to Ohio University.

Hope these thoughts are helpful.
