I was planning to respond to a couple of additional posts (those by B= rochu =3D and Wagner) and then call it quits, but I see a new flood of messages= has =3D arrived, and I simply don't have time to continue this discussion. I= need =3D to get the proposal for the companion volume submitted very soon, and= that =3D won't happen unless I withdraw from this discussion. Moreover, the e= ntire =3D discussion will be irrelevant, because we won't get the contract, the= re =3D won't be a companion volume, and our movement will be dead in the wat= er. I just want to conclude with one comment concerning the Pan convetion= . It =3D was clear from the Paris meeting that the majortiy of people were not= =3D comfortable making this convention a rule, so there will be no such r= ule =3D in the first version of the PhyloCode.
