Directions, PhyloCode Meeting(I can't send to "PN meeting participants", =
so I'll try this way.)

Wow!!!

The Grande Galerie de l'=C9volution is a magnificent setting, and part =
of one of Europe's best natural history museums.
A preliminary draft of the programme will shortly be available in the =
abstract booklet on the PhyloCode web site =
(http://www.ohiou.edu/phylocode/).
What an honour to be placed right behind Sereno! :-)

The programme is very encouraging. My fears that only a few disciplines =
(angiosperm phylogeny, tetrapod phylogeny) would be represented have =
been dispelled. I'm looking forward to a very interesting meeting!!!
(Having some entomologists would still have been nice, though.)

Unfortunately an error has made it into the programme. I will not =
advocate an apomorphy-based definition for Aves (which would be next to =
impossible, if Rec. 11A is to be followed). I will advocate a stem-based =
one, as follows:

{Passer domesticus > Velociraptor mongoliensis, Oviraptor philoceratops, =
Segnosaurus galbinensis, Troodon formosus, Sinornithoides youngi, =
Ornithomimus velox, Tyrannosaurus rex, Compsognathus longipes, =
Ornitholestes hermanni, Coelurus fragilis, Coelophysis bauri, =
Hypsilophodon foxii, Crocodylus niloticus, Sphenosuchus acutus, =
Euparkeria capensis, Megalancosaurus preonensis, Sorex araneus}

(P. domesticus is the internal specifier, all others are external ones.)

Because I have generously been given the opportunity to give this =
5-minute talk, the part ", and a definition for Aves" in the headline of =
my 15-minute talk can be dropped. The same applies to the second =
paragraph of my abstract, which is correctly reproduced as saying what =
I've repeated above.

See you all in July!

:-)=
