Critical items of business include=20 ratification of the Bylaws and election of the=20 first officers and Council of our new society=20 (SPN). Bylaws are currently being drafted by Phil=20 Cantino. After review by several other members=20 of the PhyloCode Advisory Group, the Bylaws will=20 be emailed to all registered participants. There=20 will be an opportunity at the Business Meeting to=20 propose and discuss modifications of the Bylaws=20 before voting on their adoption. In preparation for the election of the first=20 officers and Council of the Society, I hereby=20 request nominations for President, Secretary,=20 Treasurer, and 6 members-at-large of Council.=20 Anyone who plans to participate in the First=20 International Phylogenetic Nomenclature Meeting=20 or to join the Society is eligible to nominate=20 candidates. Nominations should specify which=20 position is intended for the nominee. Each=20 person may nominate a candidate for President,=20 Secretary, Treasurer, and up to three=20 members-at-large (up to six names altogether).=20 Nominations must be e-mailed to Tom Artois=20 (e-mail: tom.artois@luc.ac.be) no later than June=20 10.
