Subject: Gender of species names?

The form of species names when converted from Linnaean to phylogenetic ones
is still an open question. However, if the choice would be epithet-based
phylogenetic names, then I would suggest keeping the gender as it is in the
currently used combination. But then original ones would be fine too. I
wouldn=B9t see it as much of an esthetical problem, since the word would stan=
d
on its own. At least to me, the important issue with such things (i.e.
gender) is not so much what decision is taken, but that there is an
agreement and decision on how to do it. Others may disagree, of course.
